Printing direct to timber has been made possible with the introduction of UV flatbed printers in 2005. Modern printers will print direct to to timber at 1440 dpi using a 6 colour CMYKLCLM process. With the addition of a white ink process, many interesting effects can be created. The sample below has been created with a 50% white "wash" which underpins the colour images, This allows for the wood grain to show through for a really nice effect. The sample below can be found in the current fitouts of BOOST JUICE.
